[GTALUG] simple plug & play ethernet splitters?

Thanks for the explanation.
What I am not understanding is how to choose to insure the greatest 
protection .  In this case will I have an issue if I choose a 14  but 
these are  12 a items?
I understand the 3 refers to grounded plugs which is what I want.
