[GTALUG] simple plug & play ethernet splitters?

I admit the 16 port idea made me giggle.  I only have two hands and two 
ears, to use with any device at a time.
even if I want to simply keep things connected, no matter if turned off, 8 
ports  should hold me for quite awhile.
