[GTALUG] question -- booting from USB on Chromebook ?

On my Acer Chromebook C720 early in the boot when SeaBIOS detects a USB
stick I need to hit ESC to bring up a menu listing the internal storage and
USB stick and make my selection to continue. Otherwise the Chromebook will
hang indefinitely.
