You are not going to have enough code to make a noticeable difference.
Most of that will be data and the data size doesn't change.  The extra
register more than make up for it.

x86_64 is unlike any other 64bit CPU extension.  It is actually faster
and better than the 32bit variant, unlike anything else where 32bit was
always faster.
