And the binaries also end up slightly larger, which may increase
swapping. Since the system only has 2 gigs of RAM, it's not really
worth it. I don't know if it can take more than 2 gigs, and even if
it could, how expensive is memory for that old of a motherboard?

What prompted all this work on my part was the announcement that
"Antenna TV" http://www.antennatv.tv/affiliates/ will be showing up as a
sub-channel on WGRZ, Buffalo, on January 1st. It may not be everybody's
cup of tea, but the schedule intrigues me
http://affiliate.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCGrid.do?aid=antennatv Think
of it as a real-world version of http://www.rimmell.com/bbc/news.htm

I'm in a 6th-storey condo with a clear view to the SSE, and WGRZ is
reliable reception for me with a good indoor antenna. I want to be able
to PVR to my PC and view later.
