| I know that ssh/scp can do all the things that Windows folks do with pstools.
|
| Nonetheless is there a Linux TCP/IP server which can allow the Windows pstools
| to transparently manage a remote Linux server, in much the same way as SAMBA
| allows the file system to look transparent?
pstools seem to be a collection of command-line tools for Windows NT.
Inspired by UNIX commands.
As far as I know, it makes more sense to use the originals rather than
the imitation. Note that the imitation is modified to fit into the
Windows NT worldview. Not something that Linux needs or wants.

One novel aspect is that these tools each can reach across a network
to perform their actions on another machine. Most Linux tools require
that they be run on the machine that they are addressing. Hence the
scp reference.
You could emulate pstools with shell scripts if you are really attached
to them. There would be some loss in translation with Linux
approximating NT approximating UNIX
Runs on:
* Client: Windows XP and higher.
* Server: Windows Server 2003 and higher.
I have no idea what they mean by "higher". Perhaps Linux :-)
