Well, I thought the location was certain, then it went
uncertain, so I instantly started looking for
alternates, and came up with two (just got a tentative
yes to another location). So, current list of
possibilities are:

- Linuxcaffe
- Eastern Ave, near King and River
- A downtown office building, close to subway (closer
than Linuxcaffe anyway). Food court with lots of cheap
eats in the office building across the street (open on
Saturday). Bad news is would have to deal with the
security set-up, which on weekends is UGLY. Would also
have to deal with elevator lock down, which is also
UGLY.

Flaw with all of the above is no cable TV, otherwise
they are all more-or-less comparable in terms of
available space, power, high speed Internet...

Now, I don't mind a situation where I talk to someone
about a project and they say "Yes you can do this
subject to conditions X, Y, and Z", that is fine, as
long as I know what I am getting into. What happened
here today was there seemed to be a change in
mid-stream where assumptions that I had though were
very safe assumptions turned out to be dead wrong, a
situation that went over very badly with me. What also
went over poorly with me was that I had no advance
warning that this was coming, just a note to the
general mailing list that it was 6 people or else (all
this after I got e-mail that 6 people planned to come
to the event). A third fairly minor issue was the use
of "linuxcaffe event; MythTV workshop", this was to be
an event at Linuxcaffe, until I get put on the
Linuxcaffe payroll this is not an event owned by
Linuxcaffe as is implied by the above title. In other
words, while David Patrick can do what he wants with
Linuxcaffe, the way things were handled today felt to
me like a slap in my face.

So, where to go? Not sure, but I do know that at the
moment Linuxcaffe is not my first pick, might not even
be my 2nd pick. Hopefully by noon tomorrow I will know
just where things stand and pass that on to the list.
Regardless I will find a way to make this event
happen.

Not so simple, due to the TV crew, things are a bit
strange. Still for a crowd of 5-6 people there should
be enough room. Key issue is, "will they be shooting?"
if the answer is yes, then nothing else can be
happening in the building...
