If it's an Olympus, it's likely to use their $$$ xD cards. Last I heard,
 certain camera features only worked with Olympus-branded xD cards.
These make even Sony's Memory Sticks look cheap.

Unless you have specific needs to control the camera over USB, Pavel's
original suggestion of a card reader is a good one. While I can get my
Nikon D70 to work with Linux, my Sony Cybershot P100 (5mp; Zeiss Lens;
$299 from Henry's) is recognised by the USB system, but isn't connected
as mass storage. My card reader, however, reads CF and MS perfectly.
