Thanks for the tip Lloyd.  I'd noticed some oddness with evolution's
imap, but nothing major (the small font problem's been the worst so
far).  How are the KOffice tools at handling the rest of Evolutions
functionality, e.g. schedule and contacts, synchronization to a palm
etc.?
