UofT made some changes recently with authentication, disabling what they’re calling “legacy authentication”. These days, it’s OAUTH2 or you’re stuck with webmail. First, you need to ensure that you’re using Thunderbird 77.0b1 at the minimum. Then, you can follow the instructions in the email they sent about this in March: https://its.utoronto.ca/improving-information-security-by-disabling-legacy-authentication/
