Simple-Scan is a useful little tool to let you use a scanner without 
needing to dive too deeply into scanner arcana.  Remember how easy it was 
to use a photocopier most of the time?

The current maintainer appears to be Robert Ancell of Canonical.  The code 
is hosted on their launchpad.

For the last three years, there has been a bug report that Simple Scan 
doesn't get th page size right.  How fundamental is that?
