USB mouse -> 50% CPU load ?

I usually use "top" or "w" for system load, but was curious to try out
"System Monitor" that comes with KDE-4.4.3.  Simply moving my USB mouse
uses 50% of my dual-core 3.2GHz cpu.  I just can't believe this.  Anyone
experienced similar thing?
