USB mouse -> 50% CPU load ?

Well moving the mouse causes lost of X events to be sent to the
applications you move over.

I certainly see the load of Xorg and a few other things go up when I
move the mouse, but not 50%.  Maybe 10%.  May depend on the application
of course, and your X driver.
