VLC is great, not disputing that, but while that's getting sorted
(instead of doing a wholesale upgrade to unstable), what's so bad
about MPlayer? I use mplayer-nogui, and I've never met a video it
didn't like. Also it always gets the resolution correct, which is
something I can't say for every other player :-\
Nice keyboard shortcuts too, subtitle support, audio/video sync is
easy to play with. Only thing that bugs me is that it refuses to
include a default icon...weird and irritating.
For what it's worth, I also was having many problems with VLC on my
Testing system, but since I am not as dedicated to it I didn't pursue
a solution.
