The thing to compare this with is Quicksilver, which is an alternative
program launcher on MacOS.

Quicksilver behavior is that you hit C-space to launch, then...

- enter launches the last thing launched

- hit a and it'll propose a list of apps starting with a, ordered by
popularity.

s/a/some other letter/ as needed

- more letters chooses perhaps more precisely

- oh yeah, the choices might be other than applications. The objects to be
selected from also include your contacts.

- and while "launch" is the eponymous action, other actions are
selectable. For a contact, sending email is an intuitive action, for
instance.

Quicksilver has gotten released as open source, and it has done a fair bit
of inspiring for the various launchers of late.

How much of that is needed for Gnome Do to be useful is a fine question.
