I have an 8 year old ThinkPad R31 that's still going strong. It runs
Linux fine, but for some reason XP frequenly locks up on it (no great
loss). The only "repair" I've had on it was replacing a dead battery a
couple of years back. I bought it as a "refurb" at the warehouse store
IBM used to have on 14th Ave. in Markham.
