network card/driver not loading

somehow i managed to bring my dvd back to life by opening the box and 
making sure the cables were tight..with the dvd back, just going to 
reinstall kubunu, my system is hosed, firefox stops working after each 
reboot and only work after a reinstall... i don't know what ever is 
messed up?
