That seems rather remarkable.

After all, the term "open source" was created specifically and
conspicuously to draw interest from for-profit business interests that
were keen on "freeing themselves" of the ideological and
confrontational connotations of the term "free software." (That very
wording is, itself, somewhat ideological and confrontational!)

RMS would be the prime example of the "profit is a dirty word" people,
and he specifically declines to call what he works on "open source,"
and complains that it "misses the point."
http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/open-source-misses-the-point.html Ask
him about his "open source" work and you can be sure to hear a rant
down that road...

I'd think that a "free software expo" might fit with what you say, but
generally the folks who fall into that "more socialistic than Marx"
category reject the term "open source."

In contrast, it seems rather surprising for there to be an "expo"
listed, when there is no indication as to:
 a) Where it is to be,
 b) Who is running it,
 c) Who's involved altogether.

We know that OLF is done by then, so it's not "OLF on Monday."

We also know that FSOSS begins on October 29th, so this isn't an expo
that is part of FSOSS.

It actually doesn't make terribly much sense to me, as an event, for
reasons that are only in the most peripheral ways related to the "free
software"/"open source software" divide.

 - It's suggested as a "trade show", but if the IT360 experience has
shown us anything,
it is that trade shows are a *severely* dying thing

 - The things suggested (http://torontoopensourceweek.pbworks.com/Event-List) as
being involved seem to be a duplication of what happens at OLF on the 24th
