You can download a Wordpress-style blog and plop it on to your website in 
minutes. It is a standalone blog written in PHP, so there will be little 
interference from "pathological" cultures.

It is also open source. I have one that had I set up for a laugh (I'm not 
writing anything in it at the moment) and to actually help teach myself PHP. It 
is at http://hackingphp.alimentarus.net

You will notice that there are no links to other blogs and no way for them to 
get to me. I log in, I write my stuff, and I log off. I can make my posts 
private or public.
