Of Linus, KDE, and mouse buttons

There are several Ubuntu variants, including Xubuntu and Edubuntu.  Try 
installing the Kubuntu variant of Ubuntu.  That one uses KDE.

Alternatively, you can download KDE from the Ubuntu repositories.
