Seems your card should be supported in Gutsy since it ships with the
ALSA version said to be working in the thread below...

Perhaps the windows partition resize operation did not go so well?
Run chkdsk.  But hey, once you go Ubuntu, and see all the naked people
on the desktop. you never go back :-)
