Hmmm... mine had a fairly simple heatsink on it, and ran for days and weeks
at a time.  It wasn't small, but not giant either and it did the job.  In
any case, they come as a pair.

That said, I would love to build a silent computer one day.  Even my tablet
isn't quiet enough for me, so I'm not sure it's possible to build a decent
PC that would be truly silent.
