Sounds like a job for a script! :) I'm slowly learning the benefits
of taking the time to write a script for
seldom-performed-but-important/delicate tasks. It's better, in the
long run, to encode your knowledge in executable form so you don't
have to remember how to do it next time. It also means you're more
likely to fix things than break them while drunk/sleepy/rushed.
