Help with Etch

Hi

I upgraded from Sarge to Etch with "apt-get dist-upgrade".

When booting, the font of the messages are as usual, then they become 
very small.
I'd like the boot messages to one font and size.
I've been looking at the Debian Reference and /etc/init.d/console-screen.sh.

Where should I be looking and how do I configure the font and size?
