Sabayon?

I've noted a distribution called Sabayon that's currently doing quite 
well in Distrowatch's popularity poll. It's based on Gentoo but I'm 
having a difficult time understanding just how it differs from its 
parent. From a basic read of the website just sounds like someone's 
pre-built Gentoo config.

Can anyone offer any enlightenment on this? Is anyone here using it?
