Well I have  DLink and  Linksys cards which worked ok in my Windoze Laptop but 
for convenience I now use a USB unit. Works with Win, Linux and probably 
anything else. It goes from desktop to laptop to ??  as required. 
Mechanically much superior to pcmcia,  I feel.
