Okay - I'm trying that now. I'm getting 'Authentication Failure' trying 
to 'su'. I had that problem the first time I installed ubuntu (on 
antoher system) - it finally settled down and accepted my regular user 
password. Why is this a cryptic thing in ubuntu?
