I understood that you meant adults .. but I don't see how you can get
into the industry (and make actual money) on such short notice without
a teaching degree.. even becoming a teacher's assistant sounds hard,
as they probably hand-pick from among their students.

Absolutely that's what you should do. At least get a feeler or two
out there to learn what the real situation is. Even if you find it
hard to get your foot in the door, ask them if they know anyone or
what direction you could go towards.. you never know.

I've got no suggestions myself, as I'm not really in the business..
Hopefully we can hear a couple of other voices out there. I'd bet
there have been some people who have done some private lessons.. maybe
that's an industry waiting to be explored.
