No, that's what is known as a "straw man" argument.

You're making up a response that you feel you can trivially knock down.

The thing is, Microsoft *does* have some pretty smart folk (notably at
Microsoft Research, which bears little resemblance to the rest of the
company) some of whom have ideas *legitimately good enough* to be
worth listening to.

Knee-jerking and going on an anti-Microsoft rave is NOT something that
will get you a useful hearing, and that is EXCEEDINGLY necessary in
this kind of situation.

Oddly enough, this is completely standard behaviour for shells. This
is a roundabout way of saying `don't use combined chains of `&&'s and
`||'s unless you think Gödel's theorem is for sissies'.
