I heard Cavoukian being interviewed on CBC on Wednesday and though she 
only mentioned Microsoft by name, she also mentioned several times 
that this was a broad initiative put forth by many companies, not 
just Microsoft. I didn't think she was shilling for Microsoft at all. 
I think the reaction of some on this thread has been immature, 
ill-informed, and sexist. I direct everyone's attention to an article 
on this topic by Doc Searls at Linux Journal here: 
<http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8357>. Perhaps after reading 
that, we can engage in informed discussion rather than speculation.

The Linux fan boys who advocated spamming her inbox or her fax and 
those who attacked her based on her looks should be ashamed of 
themselves. If we want Linux to be a relevant and viable option, we 
must present cogent, well-informed arguments, not just engage in 
knee-jerk Microsoft bashing. Behaving like anti-social clods is not 
likely to convince the great masses of people, who really don't know 
or care what an operating system is, of the merits of Linux.
