Definitely.  Just the other night I coerced my brother to switch a really
gross sed script to an one liner in awk.  Not only is it now readable (who
wants to try and grok h;p;s/xxx/xyz/;b;x;y/xxx/xxx/;H;p [or whatever] :)) but
it also works.
