Dave Bour got an infinite number of monkeys to type out:

I cannot find such a service. I am running Mandriva 2006 Official, and this is
what I see in /etc/init.d/

[joehill at node4 init.d]$ ls
acpi* haldaemon* mandrake_consmap network* portmap* usb*
acpid* halt* mandrake_everytime* nfs* rawdevices* webmin*
alsa* harddrake* mandrake_firstime* nfslock* single* xfs*
atd* keytable* mDNSResponder* nifd* smb*
crond* kheader* messagebus* ntpd* sound*
dm* killall* mtink* numlock* sshd*
freshclam* lisa* netfs* oki4daemon* syslog*
functions lm_sensors* netplugd* partmon* udev*

Has xinetd been switched to something else?

How'd you know I tried that? ;-)

Thanks for you reply!
