An alternative to a trace pen is rear window defogger repair paint.  At auto 
repair stores.  Comes in a very small bottle with a built-in brush.  I second 
Jim's opinion.  Solder it!  These paints are not for mechanical strength 
(neither is solder, but it will do a better job than the paint.)
