Any autohiding dashboard/panel apps without tons of dependancies?

Well yes, that's the main problem with GNOME (and KDE, and Windows,
and the very idea).  Is this really news to you?

I run WindowMaker.  Other possible alternatives are Blackbox and XFCE.
