Err, if you want to do it manually, and for free, just tar up the
gentoo filesystem, making sure to preserve ownership and perms,
extract it where you like (again preserving ownership and perms), and
then follow the instructions in the Gentoo Handbook for configuring
grub in order to get it running again.
