FWIW, my son -- the one who learned 'vi' at 4 -- is now taking graphic 
design at Seneca at York. He works part-time at the Yorkdale Apple store, 
and absolutely despises the Gimp. At least he uses -- and likes -- 
Drupal for his personal website.
