Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

So if someone comes up to me and asks if I can suggest/recommend where 
he can purchase a PC with Linux installed, I can recommend 
www.sub500.com or Flipside Technology Services but not myself who may be 
in that business?
Or another LUG member?

Do I have to practice due diligence and check if any LUG members are 
involved?
If that person does not want to deal with the above businesses (for 
whatever reason), I cannot do it even if that is my "bread and butter"? 
What if he has neither the time or inclination to seek help from the 
community?
He just wants it working and is willing to pay.
An hour of his time may be monetarily equivalent to a week of mine :-)
