I gaved up with metadot quite soon after starting learning it, hence my 
experience is limited. The reason was simple: it is too "heavy", 
consumes too much server resources (CPU, RAM), much beyond the limit 
that I could consider acceptable. That resulted also in a slow response 
time, even on a good machine I used to test it on.

Now, I use serendipity, which is simpler (this is not "bad") and 
performs very well.
