  I'm finally getting serious about setting up my personal webserver.
I'll be using boa. I notice the following in the config file...

=====================================================================
# DirectoryIndex: Name of the file to use as a pre-written HTML
# directory index. Please MAKE AND USE THESE FILES. On the
# fly creation of directory indexes can be _slow_.
# Comment out to always use DirectoryMaker

DirectoryIndex index.html

# DirectoryMaker: Name of program used to create a directory listing.
# Comment out to disable directory listings. If both this and
# DirectoryIndex are commented out, accessing a directory will give
# an error (though accessing files in the directory are still ok).

DirectoryMaker /usr/lib/boa/boa_indexer
=====================================================================

  Does it simply need a file named "index.html" to serve up the
directory in question, or does it require some boa-specific format? And
is there an *ACTIVE* boa mailing list or forum somewhere? The mailing
list pointed to by SourceForge shows maybe 1 email per month.

An infinite number of monkeys pounding away on keyboards will
eventually produce a report showing that Windows is more secure,
and has a lower TCO, than linux.
