As long as you don't exceed the box's ratings, they should be OK. 
However, I don't know if CDs and DVDs are more sensitive to heat, than 
paper.  At one company I used to work for, we stored "original" mag 
tapes and disks in a fire safe.  They didn't seem to come to any harm. 
Then again, we didn't have any fires either.  ;-)
