I tried it in at the coffee shop attached to the Carrot Common (Chester
and Danforth) a few months ago. I could get into the local router with
blazing speed, but any further access required $$ which I didn't want to
commit to. I then took the same laptop to the University of Buffalo for
YAPC (Yet Another Perl Conference (yapc.org), <plug>being held in Toronto
in 2005!!</plug>) where it worked fine, occasionally slowing down because
of the competition from at least 50 other laptops.

Your toughest job maybe finding a place to plug in. Once you've done that,
WiFi just works. Yay for wireless.
