Polling for Donations

The University of Toronto Computer Science Student Union is holding
their yearly formal on March 19th. As part of that, they will be giving
away as door prizes a lot of donated Microsoft software. I've checked
with the people organizing and they would be happy to give away some
Linux products (CDs, whatever) if someone was willing to donate. So if
you have a few copies of your favorite distro laying around or would be
willing to burn some copies email me directly and I'll make sure they
get to the right people.

I will note that this is becoming a big issue at universities.
Microsoft is making their presence felt as much as they can, from
software giveaways to AI competitions which must be done with .NET and
many other things. Fortunately U of T is still running Linux for the
real work (and all courses) and doesn't look likely to switch any time
soon, but students are affected by the MS marketing machine, especially
since no one in particular is carrying the Linux/OSS banner.

Regards,
