VMware question

That's the only version on CD I had around, and didn't want to wait for
hours downloading new ISOs. I tried to get the Suse 9.1 FTP install working,
but cant figure out how to get it going. Once I put in the linux=ftp://
command in the boot.iso, it loads the kernel and on the next screen just
displays garbage and crashes. Anything I can install which is small? Just X
and the ability to download more later needed :)
