unusual telephony request - recording voice mail

I hate to state the obvious, but why don't you just connect a tape
recorder to a telephone and record it the old fashion way?

Or go to radio shack and buy one of those telephone recording hybrids
and do it that way...

I would like to record directly off the Bell system
voice mail. This is a one-off: a friend's father died
last week; she would like to save a copy of his last
voice mail. I said I would figure out how to do this.
