Mandrake 9.2 laptops (?)

I'm planning to buy a laptop soon. Windows will be on it, but Linux too. 
What current laptops have TLUGers used to run Mandrake 9.2? Any related 
remarks appreciated. Any brands to stay away from? I'm new to the world of 
laptops and find the market pretty confusing.
