Certainly the ones I used about 10 years ago were far from well built.
The keyboard and touchpad and trackpoint were essentially unusable, hence
the standard event of people heading to a meating with their laptop,
and a wired mouse and keyboard to connect to it.

The ones these days do seem a lot better than that fortunately.
