"long enough" seems to be Fedora 27, which is 13 releases ago, or 6.5 
years.  I have a lot of these systems.

I'm only discovering now that several of these have quietly failed kernel 
updates.  The kernel goes the wrong place and cannot be booted (but an old 
kernel will boot).
