Is there such a thing?  The smallest I've seen is 5 ports.

Or not.  Unless there's a need for the routing function, you're adding 
complexity, which is the one thing she doesn't need. Switches are 
cheap.  As mentioned, they start in the vicinity of $30, though there 
may be some cheaper.
