You can install Proxmox VE, a hypervisor that you can run for free in a
home environment:
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_11_Bullseye
Then, you can run OpenWRT as a VM. OpenWRT has everything you'll ever need
in a home router, and more.
