[GTALUG] SSL Server Certificate

Thanks very much for the informative and detailed reply, Jamon.  Following
your example, I've now managed to get server certificate validation and
ssl fingerprinting to work on Rogers, Office365, and Gmail (both pop and
imap).  I'll have to learn someday the ins and outs of how it all works,
but I'm pleased to say that I'm up and running on all counts, and have now
officially switched from fetchmail to getmail.  (But I'm hanging on to my
.fetchmailrc just in case.)
